Im looking at getting a cover for our camper. One guy is saying to do it in canvas because it will breath and you wont get the condensation build up underneath and others are saying to do it in PVC which wont breath as well but will be 100% water proof. I had a canvas cover on my old ute and it ever leaked but i can see the advantages of both. If you know about this sort of thing i would appreciate you input please. Costs are about the same $650-$700

Hi dazzlz13,
I went with `Seamaster Acrylic` fabric used on most boat covers ,In green so it doesn`t stand out like a huge weather balloon in the yard. It seems pretty water proof ,the guy that made it was a boatie so I took his advise. Mine is a very close fit with two zippers up the back end so it slides on from the front ,he added two long pull straps to assist in getting it on and they work really well.
Around the bottom he has put `D`rings at each zipper and shock cord, plus there are 3 x shock cord attached to the sides that can be clipped under the van to hold it down in heavy wind (not really needed as its a snug fit), it has a zippered door flap on each side. With the back zip and the side door unzipped you can fold up and access the full side of the van. All this was not cheap but if its too hard to get on and off you won`t use it, cost was $1350 (cheaper than a shed) from Luna covers in Wollongong NSW if your in this area.

This cover is fitted to a 2011 Conqueror UEV-490, which is for sale on CaravanCampingSales.

UEV canvas cover 1.jpg

Looks pretty good, but would be expensive.

Dazzla13 - have you thought of purchasing a small caravan cover either for a Jayco style camper; pop-top caravan or even a small full height caravan.
The cover just needs be around the 5 metres in length x 2.1m wide and 2.3m tall.

Checkout companies like Camec; Caravan Plus, etc. They all stock caravan covers. Google is your friend.

Cheers, Filbee56
