Hello everyone, we have a 2011 Conqueror 490 in which we are wrapt, despite the fact that we have a couple of issues, which in the main, Head Office has fixed.
However, after out last trip, Cape York and home vis Birdsville, Diamantinna etc etc, the camper developed a severe squeaking, grinding noise and not for the first time.
Our mechanic has isolated the problem to dry wishbone bushes and has eradicated the grinding, for now, with appropriate lubricants etc.
He believes that the wishbone should be modified to allow fittment of grease nipples to allow easy lubrication of bushes if the fault continues.
Has anybody else had this problem and did you find a solution.
We are off again this year to Flinders Ranges, Oodnadatta track to Mt. dare, Old Andado, Alice, East McDonald Ranges, Plenty Highway to Boulia, Diamantinna NP., then slowly south to Murray Darling Basin, back home in Victoria.
The trip will take 28 days.
Cheers
Prue and Geoff Dobson.

Hi Geoff

I am going back through some of the older posts and noticed that you haven't recieved a reply to your post.

My trailer had squeaking suspension- but it stopped without any intervention. If you have a look at some of the U-tube videos of the trailer in action in the scrub, there is quite a bit of squeaking going on. I also noticed it was on the earlier models.

I'm just wondering about putting a "wet" lubricant on a part not designed for one that is also exposed to dirt dust and grit. I am going to have a chat with on of my mates (he is a suspension specialist in Perth) and get him to have a look at my trailer and see what he thinks.

As for putting a grease nipple on, it would need to go somewhere that it won't get knocked of but also somewhere accessible. I will post what he says.

Cheers

Anthony
