G'day folks,
I was recently watching a series of videos by Andrew St.Pierre White on his build-up of his Landcruiser Troopy, and his Canning Stock Route expedition.

Fitted to his Troopy was a prototype shower screen, which have now been released in Australia by Quick Pitch Camping in Perth.

Have a look at the video of these screens, I am seriously looking to purchase and fit to the ensuite side of our UEV-490. Couldn't get any simpler.

From memory, the price is in the order of $550.

All the best, Filbee56

Be interested in seeing how you mount it without it eventually damaging the side of the UEV Filbee. Great invention though. Please feel free to be the test the theory, when you get it perfected I'll happily pay you a small fee for getting it right![smile]

So to mount the shower curtain bag or box to the Conqueror will require removal of the current ensuite awning. Never used anyway.

They I'd be looking at mounting the shower to the outgoing awning's alloy mounting bracket, roughly above the outside shower hose unit.

Cracka: it will definitely NOT be mounted to the shell of the UEV. And happy to trial free of charge.

All the best, Filbee56

Spada, it looks very similar to the Quick Pitch camper shower. Anyway, I've sent Luke (Drifta) an email.

Cheers, Filbee56

If you have could you please show photos of it attached ... appreciate all the info you post and the mods you’ve done.

We purchased the Quick ensuite and love it. We have mounted it below our Ostrich wing. Needs a bit of tweaking and stronger frame as ours bent in high winds. We also purchased their wheel cover bin which is another great product as it expands. You can seperate general rubbish and recycle items.

After a bit of playing around with the Quick Pitch ensuite I've come up with this so I can trail it,
My original thought was to permanently mount it above the window but I've decided against that for the time being as we only need to use the shower curtain when the bathroom sides are not up. So I have made it portable..

DSCN1207.jpg

I have secured a stainless steel bracket to the camper and the other part of the bracket to the ensuite on the other end is a piece of 40mm aluminium flat bar 6mm thick which can fold back alongside the ensuite when its not in use.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 DSCN1209.jpg  DSCN1210.jpg  DSCN1212.jpg  DSCN1213.jpg  DSCN1214.jpg  DSCN1215.jpg  DSCN1208.jpg

Well...after extensive research and soul searching, we have settled on the Outback Ensuite. It's a lot more than the Drifta/KickAss/Quick Ensuite ensuites but what sold us on it was the fit-for-purpose, the solid roof and the quality canvas and fittings. In particular we liked the idea of the solid roof because of the protection it offers in inclement weather, wind and cold breezes. We're also sold on the size and the fact that it allows us to step out of the camper straight into the ensuite.

We had toyed with idea of a custom one of our own design (drawing on the Drifta/Kick Ass model only longer and with a soft roof) - I have a mate who is very handy in that respect with access to all the toys and a son who works in the manufacturing industry. We even got to the point of a timber mock up but ultimately we decided it was less stressful to go with something straight off the shelf.

It arrived today - we'll be one of the first, if not the first, to go the self install route. A mate and I will hopefully get to it this weekend - I'll post some updates about how it goes.

EDIT: So the install was relatively stree-free.  Matthew from Outback Ensuite was just a phone call away whenever we needed to confirm something.  A couple of minor changes to be made on the fly simply due to minor differences between the manufacturing years of the 490.  Thankfully though the ensuite design itself is well thought out and minor mods were easily made.  We got to give it a good run for a fortnight over the Christmas/New Year period and, as the kids say, we love it sick bro!
