We are currently in the final stage of building our new place and we have a specific spot for the 490 [smile] Unfortunately it needs to be nose in to fit. Probably need to travel 15m on flat solid surface. Considering ratchet jockey wheel like maco mule or alko. Anyone used them and specifically if the single wheel version able to take the weight of the 490?

Or are there other solutions?

Hey littlei5,
I don`t have the ratchet type jockey wheel, but I move my Commander with a 12volt electric jockey wheel I got on ebay for about $240 and it easily moves my trailer into the position I store it.. If you search on this forum you`ll the thread which has pictures of mine and a couple of other type that members use.

I have a maco mule on my car trailer , really heavy duty works well .

The alko one is a bit junky , if there is a bit of weight on the wheel , when you push the handle to crank it forward or backwards the rim moves and the tyre stays where it is so you go nowhere , the rim slips around the tyre , i had to drill holes in the outside inner edge of the rim and put screws into the hard rubber tyre so it could work .

once i put the screws in it worked ok .

big difference in price though , i think the Maco was about $400.00 and the Alko was $80ish at the time a few years ago .

The single wheel Maco will romp it in , i use mine to push around a racing car on a big trailer and the Alko was used for a 6.5mtr F/glass boat , both will work .

Thanks guys. I think maco mule would suit me better. Good to know the single wheel maco can do the job. Still have two months to hunt for one.
