Hi guys

Im currently camped at Black Rock Caravan Park in South Hedland trying to get a mechanic to take a look at the clutch/gearbox of the Patrol, hopefully on Monday.

I will be here until morning of 26th July then I will be around Port Hedland free camping until car gets fixed.

Be good to catch up with any WA Conqueror owners

Gidday Dave

Trip was fantastic although the road in parts has deteriorated from previous trips I've done.

Alice to Kintore fine

Kintore to about 50km across NT border pretty rough and corrugated worst I've seen it in 10 years.

50km inside border to Punmu was very good - between community near well 33 had just been graded so was excellent- seismic survey was being carried out on riad between Kiwikurra and Marble Bar.

Punmu to CARAWINE Gorge was very rough and corrugated other than section just after the sealed section prior to joining TELFER Mine Rd which was very good.

We were a convoy of 3 - myself as trip leader in Conqueror and 2 other, not so off road caravans - we took it very slow, plenty of multi day camps along the way

Total trip time was 5 weeks - as I said we took our time 😎

Had a pleasant surprise today -

Todd and Po (off the forum) contacted me from Broome and arranged to spend a couple of nights at the same camp ground as me here at Port Hedland

Had a great chat over a beer or 2 and looking forward to more of the same tomorrow, especially as we are heading off for an early morning fishing session.

It was great to catch up and swap stories. And Terry even cooked us dinner! It was just as delicious as it looks.

Thanks Terry, and looking forward to catching up again soon.
