I left Lake Wallace (just north west of Lithgow NSW) heading north to get some much missed sunshine when I suddenly decided to go to Newcastle to see Peter about getting some repairs done to the 490

Looking at the map can you tell when I made that decision ??

What sort of repairs are you considering KiwiAngler?
And, yeah it was a bit of a late minute decision (as per map).

Cheers, Filbee56

Hi Filbee and WTC

After more than 5 years and 200,000 km Gunyah needs some TLC - nothing serious - things like replace a couple of door seals, realign the front sleeping panel, sort out a new front toolbox (did a but of damage when I got trapped down a tight track and turned too tight)
Considering where I have been every day for 5 years plus I can't complain
It was good to catch up with Pedro and the boys at Newcastle, unfortunately Peter wasn't there but I will definitely catch up with him on his return from overseas.

I know the feeling when you dent them.

Looks a lot worse than it was though! I never though I would use a brick and a ball pein hammer wrapped in a tea towel to panel beat an aluminium box back into shape. Good thing is, these boxes are made of soft aluminium and are easily worked.

Shame this was day three into an eight month trip.

First photo is when it happened, second is the door (I did end up getting a spare freighted to me) and the third and fourth are after I belted it straight (you can still see the gas holder has a couple of bruises).

Cheers

Anthony
