Hi all,
We usually make a this a camping weekend and would like to open invitations to the Conqueror Family.
Camping on a 40a private property about 25 mins from Gunning. Google 'Bevendale NSW' for an idea of the camp spot. Either arrive Fri night or Sat before lunch.
More details to follow, just getting it out there so people can pencil it in.

Any questions let me know.
Thanx
Grant

HI Caddyman

We have just come back from a couple of months in Arnhem Land so couldn't respond earlier.

We should be around in September and will attend unless some family thing comes up.

I am surprised that there haven't been any other takers.  The Forum shows that there are at least 8 Conquerors in and around Canberra.  Indeed only two months ago we ran into a young family of 490 owners at Lawn Hill.  Turns out they live only two streets away from us in O'Connor ACT.

I will let you know closer to the time if we can make it and get directions.

Cheers, Klaus

Looks like a worth while trip.
I've got my 440 pulled down at the moment for some maintenance. Should have back together by then. I'll keep an eye on this thread.
Thanks for info.

Regrettably, we will be on our return journey from the Birdsville Races with the 490, so unable to attend. However, I'd be there in a heartbeat after witnessing the camararderie of the 2015 Con-Nat in Perth.
Cheers, Filbee56

HI All,

Only a couple of weeks to go so more details below. If you are interested in the trip please let me know. now only Sat/Sun. I will send an email to anyone coming in the wee before with detailed instructions to the camp.

Come down and see the Gunning Fireworks Festival, camping on private property about 25 minutes from Gunning. Wrap up warm and bring a blanket - September can be cold.

Entry fee to the festival: $10 per adult, $5 per child or $25 family
Full details regarding the festival can be seen here. http://www.gunningfireworksfestival.com.au/

Couple of options to come down....
* Arrive at camp Saturday morning, then after lunch we will drive to Gunning for the show.
* Arrive directly at Gunning then travel back to camp after the show.
* Make it a day trip and head home after the show.[
* Once we are back at camp we can enjoy a few drinks around the fire.

Sunday will be a leisurely day, simply enjoying the peaceful country or a variety of activates to do. Any questions please PM me.

A big thanks to Caddyman for organising the weekend and providing the property to camp on .    The fireworks were truly spectacular and far exceeded our expectations.   Great company & enjoyed the conqueror spirit!   The entertainment the next day was also memorable.    Great weekend.

Cheers,   Troopy

Thanx Troopy
Yeah the fireworks get better every year.
The original plan continually evolved all weekend as the conditions changed as well. But glad that for the majority of the fireworks there was no rain.
We all survived some challenges brought on but the great wet that hit the area. But the support and effort put in by all present showed the quality of conquorer owners to be of the highest standard.
Thank you Troopy, Der Wutzl and your wifes for a excellent weekend. Look forward to catching up with you again.

Could not agree with Troopy more.

Thanks Caddyman (and family) for organising and hosting this great weekend.

3 families, 3 Conquerors, none of whom had met before, and within 24 hours a new group of friends.

That's what life should be about.

Thanks again, Klaus and Caryl

PS: what is the collective noun for a group of Conquerors?  A Conquest?
