On our 10/2014 UEV-490 Evolution, we have the map of Australia and UEV profile on the front quarter windows.
I love those windows for the dappled light that they allow into the camper in the morning and, during the day. Plus, the added security of being able to look outside.

On our last trip to W.A (Christmas 2018), we noticed that the perspex, forming the actual window, had come unglued (Sikaflex had lost its bond to the metal / perspex).

I umm'd and arrr'd over what to do......re-glue (not looking forward to that) or, ju
st insert (overlay) a new solid panel as is the way since the introduction of the 2016 model. I'd then loose the windows that I love.

Jared , member of this FB Forum, suggested re-gluing with Soudal T-Rex Power Crystal Clear sealant.

So yesterday, my neighbour assisted me in doing the job - definitely needed 4 hands.
Happy to say that, whilst fiddly and a touch messy, we succeeded in gluing the kitchen perspex panel. I still need to do a small amount of tidying up, but very happy with the result. I had thought of making profiles out of contact material; however, whilst it might have make cleaning up a bit simpler, it would have been a fiddly job to cut them out. So I chose to just apply sealant, and wipe off excess.

Monday, we'll attempt the ensuite side quarter panel.
'ing that box, monkey off my back. Thanks Jared.

Hi Filbee,
Welcome home, mine did the same thing a year or so ago. I just sanded the area I wanted to glue to give it something to key into and re sikaflexed it. To date they haven't come loose again but I did post it on here that polycarbonate and sikaflex don't mix, so if they come loose again I'll try your T rex glue.
Cheers

Hello Comjero.
Always nice to be away, equally nice to be home. However, only for another 7 weeks........heading all-outback to WA and return (NSW/ACT). Lots of dirt, and about to really test the Conqueror 490.

Because the perspex was still attached at different points, I just refreshed the sealant where the perspex had separated from the steel panel. Tracing around the Australia and UEV profile is challenging, but glad that it is now done, and ready for our trip commencing 6th July.

All the best, Filbee56
