Hi all, I'm seek advice as we are currently shopping for a new camper and the Commander keeps coming back to the top of my wishlist. My only concern is the sleeping capacity of the Commander as we have 3 kids (twin boys 5y and our daughter who is 10y) and I'm not sure we'd all fit on longer journeys. In time the kids could go into swags or a small tent but thats probably a couple of years away. Regards Glenn

Hi LCG,
I have a 490 Cape York and regularly travel with 4 kids (7,5,4 and 3) plus the wife. Although cosy, we are never cramped. We have even had a few occasions where storms have kept us inside when converting the dining area to a bed, and changing to pyjamas etc. Sounds strange but the added headroom from the conquerors makes moving about so much easier. Storage is plentiful, if you pack smart. Our tow vehicle is full of people, so most if not all of our food, clothing and gear is in the camper.

Hi LCG

I have 3 kids (3, 6,8) and have done extended trips. My boys sleep up on the front bed in sleeping bags. Being boys occasionally a bit of niggle but nothing serious. We used a bit of Bungy cord and hung towels at the end of the bed for a bit of privacy and to keep the light out for them. Was good to dry towels as well.

There was heaps of storage room and we even carried their bikes inside with a high chair.

We sometimes woke up with the youngest in our bed (converting the diner) but even then it was comfortable.

My UEV490 evolution is for sale if your keen (in the for sale section).

Cheers
Craig
