Unfortunately both the Commander and the 490 suffer from poor wheel alignment due to minimal adjusting options
This is especially true of the early models ( not sure on the later models, although i did hear the adjusting options had improved)
If you have an early model it is definitely worth going to an alignment specialst and get them to take a look.
I went through a couple of sets of tyres before I did, but they fixed it, and I've had no issues since.

Thanks KA,

Wear on the inside of the RH Tyre.  Have now had a specialist adjust without difficulty.  We will see.

We did on our 490 Greg; however, Conqueror HQ did a wheel alignment for us (Aug17), and I noticed a distinct improvement in the handling of the 490 on the way home (500ks Heatherbrae to Canberra, all freeway).
We had started with some shiny edges on our tyres, but there was nil evidence of these by the time we got home. And, to commence our trip (sounds strange) the tyres were chalked up. This gave me a fair indication that the wheel alignment had improved.
We are about to embark on a trip to Perth, and will be on the road for close to 10,000ks. This will also determine whether we still have a problem, or it's pretty much sorted.
On our previous 4x4 (2008 Pajero), we had it to a trucking specialist for alignment. They did a great job. On our current 4x4 (200 Series Landcruiser), the guys who did our GVM upgrade are who do our alignments.

All the best, Filbee56
